Advanced Astrology

Astronet has asked me to create a series of articles aimed at the Serious Astrologer who possesses more than just the basic elements of Astrological knowledge. For some of you, that which I write might sometimes be material which you already know. Hopefully, you will appreciate the reminder. For others, I hope the material will be new, fresh, and exciting. In either case, your feedback will be appreciated. It will help me to find the right level for you here at Astronet.

I am writing this article in anticipation that you will be reading it Mid-June, 1997, at about the time of the Summer Solstice, which will occur on June 21, 1997 at 4:20 AM EDT. This is the moment when the Sun enters 00° Cancer, and is a natural impetus for my selection for the first topic, the Cancer Ingress. Twelve times a year, the Sun enters (makes an ingress into) a new sign. A chart erected for each Ingress gives the Serious Astrologer a new predictive tool. Some Ingresses are more potent than others. The Capricorn Ingress, for example, provides predictive insight for an entire year. The Cancer Ingress, though less powerful, is an Ingress to a Cardinal Sign and provides three months' worth of predictive information.

To demonstrate the use of the Cancer Ingress, and to provide an interesting article, I have decided to view this Cancer Ingress as seen at the White House in Washington, D.C. Be assured, that for my own personal use, I am also examining the Ingress as seen at my home in Woodland Hills, California. I suggest that you erect a horoscope for the moment of the Ingress, in your time zone, located in the city where you live. You may also want to erect the chart for the White House, so that you can duplicate the discoveries presented in this article.

In the chart erected for the city where you live, if the Midheaven or Ascendant happens to be conjunct or opposite something in your personal horoscope, you can expect the next three months to be of special importance to you, in the nature of the planet that aspects the MC or ASC of the chart. I personally would use no more than one degree of orb.

Let us direct our attention now to the Cancer Ingress chart drawn for the White House. The Midheaven and Ascendant are very close to the Midheaven and Ascendant of one of the charts for the United States that is used by many Astrologers: the 7°Gemini Rising chart. This means to me that, during the three months described by the Cancer Ingress, events will occur in Washington, D.C. that are of extreme importance to the United States in general. It is noteworthy that Uranus in the USA Chart is at 8°53' Gemini, about a degree from the Ingress Ascendant. This would signify that something will occur in the Washington, D.C. area that will be a surprise or shock for the whole country.

The Serious Astrologer will also be aware that, in the Tropical Zodiac, Mars will enter Libra at 4:30 AM EDT on Thursday, June 19, 1997. When a planet like Mars, the planet of war, enters 00° of a Cardinal sign, it might signal the start of a war someplace on the Earth. This time, we have more to look at. Some 34 hours later, there will be a Full Moon at 29°29 Sagittarius (almost 00° Capricorn), forming a square to Mars. Thirteen hours later, the Sun enters Cancer, forming an opposition to the place of the Full Moon, and squaring Mars, still at 00° Libra. This is a time when fighting is likely. The Sun square Mars at the time of the Cancer Ingress is universal, and there is nothing here tying it to Washington, D.C. or to the United States in particular. Therefor, the role of Washington, D.C. will be more of an observer than a participant.

In the Cancer Ingress for Washington, D.C. the ninth house holds both Uranus and Neptune. The ninth house, describing things at a distance, is telling us that surprises as well as deceptions will come from distant countries.

If one uses a 90° Dial, it is apparent that the Sun, Midheaven, Ascendant, and Aries Point are all inter-related, and separated by only one degree from Mars. This is a constellation of great interest. Something important will happen in the next three months that will certainly involve Washington, D.C. In the months to come, when we look back at this Cancer Ingress, we will have a better understanding of the significance of this configuration.
