Aquarius New Moon 2014

Aquarius New Moon is a SuperMoon

The Aquarius New Moon On January 30 is a SuperMoon. A SuperMoon means that the Moon is closest to the Earth and in direct alignment with the Sun and the Earth. This makes it extra potent. There are two New Moons in January. Both are SuperMoons. Wow! This is a double new beginning. Pause, breathe and digest what is happening with you.
The Capricorn New Moon educated you on power and control. How you use power. How you own your power. And/or how you give your power away. This is the year to empower yourself. Do what makes you feel powerful. The Aquarius New Moon represents freedom and liberation. Liberate your mind first and your freedom will follow. Aquarius reminds you to follow the beat of your own drum. Be unique. Be original. Be who you really are. Take a walk on the weird side of life. You may find a part of yourself that has been begging for expression. This is the Aquarian New Moon message.

The Sun and Moon are coupled in Aquarius offering you a fresh outlook on life. There are no challenging aspects to this New Moon. In fact, Uranus, Aquarius modern ruler is in a harmonious aspect with both lights (Sun and Moon). This positive energy can be utilized to further your dreams, goals and pursuits. A new cycle is beginning for you. The Aquarius New Moon can empower you to move in a bold direction. You may break free from bad habits and relationships. You could awaken to your divine destiny. You are no longer distracted by fear and doubt. You are ready to be who you were born to be. You are prepared to stand in your divine power and shine your light. This energy promotes your creative self-expression.
  • Who were you born to become?
  • What are your talents, gifts and abilities?
  • What is your point of brilliance?
  • Where do you shine the brightest?
  • What were you born to do?

The Star card in the Tarot represents Aquarius. The Star guides you to your destination with the gentleness of her soft light. The Star fulfills promises and brings good fortune in general. She inspires you. The New Moon in Aquarius reminds you that you are the Star of your life. You are the Sun center of your universe. If your life is hard, look inside yourself and make the needed changes. Coach yourself. Be honest. Where are you giving your power away? What are doing that sabotages your success? The change you want to see in the world begins with you. Change your mind. You change your life. See your challenges from a different perspective. See your challenges as opportunities for growth. They keep your life fresh and lively. Your life can be much freer than you may have realized. In this way, new opportunities will emerge for you. Believe in your dreams coming true. Believe. When you wish upon a Star your dreams come true. The Star is shinning on you.  The New Moon is lighting up a new path way for you. Perhaps it was there all along and now your eyes are opened.

“Dreams are the stepping stones of further expansion. Dream on.”

Jupiter will be in opposition to Pluto on January 31. On the one hand, this can make you feel very ambitious. You will want to take charge of your life. You may feel bold in your convictions. On the other hand, watch out for bullies pushing their beliefs onto you. And/or observe when you may be pushing your ideals onto other people. You want to practice the Law of Allowing. This is where you allow for different points of view. You respect the opinions of other people, even if their beliefs are not in alignment with your own. True power does not need those around you to agree with you. Authentic power is allowing everyone to find their own path to truth. This promotes diversity. This will support creativity, freedom and liberation for everyone.

  • What do you believe is possible?
  • Are your beliefs holding you back?
  • What makes you feel safe and secure?
  • Are you giving up your freedom for a false sense of security?
  • What would you do if you were ten times bolder?

Venus moves direct on January 31. Yeah! This is good news. You have had six- weeks to reflect on what you love and value. You were to look at your needs in relationships and finances. You were to look back and see if there was someone or something from your past. You may have left behind. You can include in your life. Venus in direct motion can increase your cash flow. Wise investments can be made. Venus has been dancing with Pluto for weeks. Power in relationships is the theme. Being honest, sincere and in your integrity. This is the best practice. This will keep you balanced. And, on track no matter how other people behave. Still, manipulation, hidden agendas, and jealousy often occur with Pluto/Venus contacts. These negative behaviors will take you off path and into a ditch. They do make for good TV drama. Yet, in real life this is destructive behavior. Controlling others for one’s own selfish desires are not the act of the spiritually evolved.  Giving your power away to keep the peace is not love. This is fear. The best explanation of real Love you can read here. Love.

Mercury the messenger enters Pisces on January 31. Mercury will be retrograde February 6 — 28.  You can go here and read about how to Navigate Mercury Retrograde. This is a great time to go back over things. It is excellent for research work. This is not an ideal time to start a new job, relationship or project. If you can wait until March 1 your patience will pay off. Yes, the show must go on even with Mercury retrograde. We can’t stop life or business. You have to do what needs to be done. If you have to start a new job or make a major purchase. Just make sure you read the fine print before you invest your time and money. Keep all your receipts. The devil is in the details when Mercury is in retrograde.

The Aquarian New Moon reminds you to use your power wisely. Be a force for good in the world. Be a conduit for Joy. Keep your ego on a short leash. Live from your soul. This is your creative power. You are master creator. You are co-creating with Source daily. Use the New Moon to create a new life. Don’t wait on other people. Take action today. What are three things that you can do to move your life in a new direction? Do three things every day that are forward focused. Change your life so that you have more freedom. Create the space for love to come to you.  Do what makes you smile. You can use the 100 Smiles Program to make your life your own.

These SuperMoons strengthen the impact for change. This is setting the tone for the New Year. Get out of your own way. Move out of your comfort zone. Make bold beginnings.  Uranus is encouraging you to have a fresh start. Be innovative. Don’t allow the negative ego to hold back your dreams. Get creative. If a door closes on you, then open a window. Climb out. Move on a new life path.  Wherever the Aquarius New Moon lands in your natal chart is where you are being given a fresh start. Listen to your intuition. You intuition is your inner knowledge. Allow your Star, your Higher Self to guide you to new relationships and goals. Sudden unexpected opportunities can come to you from out of the blue. Your hopes and wishes realized. Your dreams come true. Be ready. In this way, you will seize the new potentials that are emerging in your life.

Love and Peace,

Marriage Aspects in Synastry

by Nadia Gilchrist

There are only a few aspects between partners that encourage potential matrimony, and even then, they can also indicate other types of commitment. In the context of this article, “marriage” refers to a mutual decision to formalize a romantic commitment in whatever spiritual or social context is meaningful. Note that all these synastry aspects can be applied to straight or same-sex couples.

Saturn

Before a couple even goes near the idea of wedlock, there must be at least one Saturn connection in their synastry. Saturn interaspects can be part of any long-term relationship (co-workers, friends, parent/child), but they are absolutely essential for commitment between two people. Saturn contacts are the cement that stabilize a relationship, so marriage can be built upon it.

If your partner’s Saturn hits your relationship planets (Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars) or your angles (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th House cusps) with a hard aspect, they’ll feel a baseline responsibility to you. This sense of responsibility must be there before your partner can contemplate a long-term relationship. Trines and sextiles are weaker, but if they occur in multiples (your partner’s Saturn trines your Sun and Venus) there can still be enough glue to hold the two of you together. The feeling of commitment that Saturn creates goes both ways, but the Saturn person will feel the primary responsibility.

Juno

This “marriage asteroid” represents how someone relates to a partner in the context of a committed union.  If your planet aspects your partner’s Juno, they will feel the urge to formalize the relationship. Conjunctions are strongest, although oppositions and squares can do the trick as well. Trines and sextiles are less pronounced, but can still work if they go both ways (your Juno and their Juno trines or sextiles mutual planets).

For example, your lover has Juno in Virgo. They are looking for a very specific (Virgo) type of partner: someone who will join them as they tinker with, and improve, the relationship. Your Sun conjuncts their Juno. This means that your external expression of purpose and ego perfectly matches what the Juno person is looking for in a partner. Both of you will feel  that you can work (Virgo) together to create a formal union, although the Juno person will feel this most strongly.

The Sun and Moon

Your Sun conjunct your partner’s Moon (or vice versa) is the gold standard for potential marriage aspects. The Sun person’s conscious will (male energy) unites with, and is supported by, the Moon person’s emotions (female energy). There is an instinctive sense of belonging, because you and your lover complement each other at a primary level. The Sun person will usually dominate (this is true for straight and same-sex couples). For sign specific examples, check out the articles on Sun/Moon compatibility. The powerful connection created by a Sun/Moon aspect is mutual.

Sun/Moon oppositions can also create a powerful urge for marriage (you and your partner balance out each other). Squares create strong attraction, but the tension can be too jarring for settling into a long-term union. Trines and sextiles create a nice flow of energy, but aren’t strong enough (by themselves) to push the relationship forward.

The Sun/Moon Midpoint

This is the mathematical midpoint between the natal Sun and Moon. It has been referred to as the “inner marriage” between a person’s male and female energy — the union of their external purpose and internal needs. If your planet conjuncts or opposes this midpoint, you are the external manifestation of that need.

For example, your Mars conjuncts your partner’s midpoint. Through the expression of your initiative, ambition and sexuality (Mars), you are a prompt for the midpoint person. Even though your Mars energy may be aggressive, the way you express it just seems to click with your partner’s inner puzzle. When working with any midpoint contacts, only the hard aspects (squares, oppositions and conjunctions) are considered. Midpoint contacts tend to be one way, with the midpoint person feeling the effects.

The 7th House

If your planet activates your partner’s 7th House of committed relationships, they will view you as their ideal partner. If there are other aspects (in the house person’s chart) that support a desire for formal union, they may also see you as a potential spouse. A conjunction from your planet to their 7th House cusp is most powerful, but your planets anywhere in their 7th House will work. If your Jupiter falls in their 7th, your beliefs will boost their faith in committed partnerships; you’ll make the idea (of commitment to you) seem good. If your Venus activates their 7th House, the way you express love will stir your partner’s admiration, and will blend with their view of relationships. 7th House overlays are felt primarily by the house person.

Note that if only your outer planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto) are activating your lover’s 7th House, there will need to be some other marriage aspects between the two of you. Outer planet contacts can be powerful, but they seem to stir up issues (on the house person’s side) that reach beyond the day-to-day rhythms of a romantic relationship. It’s almost too “big picture” to function on a personal level.

As always, context is everything. The above contacts increase the chances for marriage, providing both parties have the natal characteristics that indicate the desire for marriage. Although the connections described above don’t guarantee a trip to the altar (or whatever place is chosen for the ceremony), they certainly increase the odds that two people will want to take that step.
